I took this photo at Butterfly World near where I live. I loved the lighting and the butterfly and was just hoping it would stay still for me. It looked fine in my LCD screen but when I downloaded it to my computer, I was disappointed because it was soft.
For this image I sharpened it using the Unsharp Mask in PSP 7. Radius=4:00 Strength=55 and Clipping=6 I was real pleased with the results because I had previously used the Sharpen Filter.
Sharpening the image in Aftershots was real easy. I just moved the slider over 3 notches. In comparison, I find more detail in the tree in the image sharpened in PSP.
The above photo was "ok" to me. But after using "Quick Fix" in Aftershots, I see that it was flat. The bottom image is more vibrant. Quick Fix is a very easy tool to use...
This is a photo that really needs help... I'm not quite sure what happened to my flash. I almost deleted it, but I'm glad I saved it because with a lot of enhancements it came out ok.
It shouldn't surprise anyone that I used all 3 Auto Controls in PSP for this image. First I used the Auto Contrast Enhancement. Bias=Lighter Strength=Normal Appearance=Natural. Next, I used the Auto Color Balance. Strength=40 Temperature=5665. Finally I used the Auto Saturation Enhancement. Bias=Normal Strength=Normal Checked the box for "skintones present".
